Step into a tranquil oasis of traditional Chinese beauty with Yu Garden, a 400-year-old classical garden located in the heart of Shanghai’s bustling Old Town, where natural elements and man-made structures blend seamlessly to create a timeless retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle.

Definition of adult: Visitors aged 18 years old and above

Definition of senior: Visitors aged 60 years old and above (discounted rate applicable)

Definition of student: Visitors aged 6–18 years old with a valid student ID card or student passport (discounted rate applicable)

This ticket covers entry to Yu Garden’s five interconnected scenic zones, including the iconic 12-meter-tall Grand Rockery that offers panoramic views of the garden’s pavilions, ponds, and winding corridors, the Jade Magnificence Hall once used for hosting guests and showcasing precious artifacts, the Lotus Pool where colorful koi fish glide beneath the water’s surface, and the zigzagging Nine-Turn Bridge said to ward off evil spirits, the garden is adorned with traditional Chinese decorations like red lanterns, carved wooden windows, and calligraphy inscriptions, adding to its rich cultural charm.

Visitors can choose from two entry time slots:

Morning (9am–12:30pm): To explore before the midday crowds

Afternoon (12:30pm - 4pm): For a more relaxed schedule

After the garden visit, you can wander through the adjacent Yuyuan Bazaar, a vibrant marketplace filled with local snacks such as steamed xiaolongbao (soup dumplings), crispy shengjianbao (pan-fried buns), and sweet tanghulu (candied hawthorns), as well as shops selling traditional handicrafts, tea, and silk products, please note that entry is only permitted during the selected time slot, but visitors can stay until the garden’s closing time.
