This tour is the combination of two locations: Cachi in the Alto Valle Calchaqui and Cafayate in the lower valley area. Arrive at lunchtime. The route continues along Route 40 to admire mountain scenery with great charm villages bordering the river Calchaqui, historic towns like Seclantas, Molinos and Angastaco.
Then cross the Quebrada de Las Flechas, San Carlos and Animana, and up to Cafayate, to spend the night. The next day we visit the artisanal and industrial wineries, tasting wines recognized and awarded internationally. After lunch we return to Salta through the Quebrada de las Conchas and the Lerma Valley. It does not include accommodation.

You will travel to a magical town located in the Northwest of the Calchaquies Valleys of Salta,surrounded by imposing mountains, snow-capped peaks, plateaus and with colonial architecture that will take you back in time. But not only the destination will amaze you, the route through different national and provincial routes is one of the most beautiful in Argentina.
It will depart from the city of Salta, traveling through the central part of the Lerma Valley and then entering the Sub-Andean Sierras. Here you can explore and admire the landscapes of the Quebrada de Escoipe and the Cuesta del Obispo.You will experience contrasts of landscapes and climates: you will pass from the humid and exuberant jungles of the Yungas to the arid, cold and inhospitable Puna.
During the ascent you will be able to enjoy spectacular views, imposing hills and the majestic condorthat watches over you from the sky. At Piedra del Molino you will reach the highest point, 3,457 meters above sea level and then descend towards the Tin-Tin Straight in Los Cardones National Park to finally reach Cachi.Once there, you will be able to see its museum, church and you will have the opportunity to walk freely through its little streets.

A walk through a reddish ravine, where each geological formation carved by the wind and water will give you beautiful postcards of the foothills, a more than deserved prelude to Cafayate, the heart of the Calchaqui Valley where the sun always shines and the best wine awaits you. height.
The city of Cafayate is considered the land of the sun and wine. It is located in the Calchaqui Valley, 180 km from the capital of Salta, and you can enjoy one of the most impressive and renowned routes in Northern Argentina.
It will depart from the city of Salta, touring the center and south of the Lerma Valley, to then enter the Quebrada de las Conchas Natural Reserve. A 90 km low cornice road will take you through a narrow valley surrounded by colorful hills, dominated by orange and red. There you will find geoforms carved by Mother Nature such as La Garganta del Diablo, El Amphitheater, Las Ventanas, Los Castillos, La Yesera, El Sapo, etc.
In Cafayate you will have the chance to visit a winery, with tastings of the best wines in the area. Although the region always refers to Torrontes, the place has a large number of hectares devoted to red grapes such as Malbec, Tannat or Cabernet Sauvignon.
After lunch (not included) you will return to Salta by the same route.

The tour begins from the city of Salta, leaving through the central access of the city, taking RN 9 and then entering the municipality of General Guemes, via RN 34. Later on, it will enter the sister province of Jujuy, in the that you will have the opportunity to get to know a little piece of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, visit picturesque towns such as Yala, Volcan, Purmamarca where you will find the majestic Cerro de los 7 Colores, the incredible Cuesta de Lipan, at 4,170 meters above sea level and you will be able to appreciate its spectacular flora and fauna.
You will arrive at the Salinas Grandes, where you will be able to appreciate all its magnitude and take the most beautiful and creative selfies.
You will return to the town of Purmamarca, where you can have lunch of the best regional dishes (not included) where llama meat predominates and also get to know the acclaimed town of Purmamarca, with its picturesque and rustic streets, with uphill roads.
The guide will invite you to take a walk with him to see Paseo Los Colorados. After this, the way back is undertaken.

Thanks to the technical conditions of our vehicles, the "Safari to the Clouds" gives us the possibility to combine three different circuits in the Northwest of Argentina in one day. The first one, the "Road to the Clouds" follows the famous railway track of the "Train to the Clouds" through the "Quebrada del Toro" (Bull's Gorge) up to San Antonio de los Cobres.
The second one goes through the Puna, along route 40, up to "Salinas Grandes" (Salt Lakes) of Jujuy. And the third one, the downhill trip of Lipan to the picturesque village of Purmamarca, at the base of the well known "Mount of the Seven Colors". The circuit ends in Salta.
Departure from Salta to the village of Tastil, know for its ruins. Continue to San Antonio de los Cobres where a lunch break and time for visit the place is made. Drive thrugh route 40 until reaching the Salinas Grandes, right on the border between Salta and Jujuy.
Salinas Grandes is one of the largest depressions in the province with more than 12.000 hectares of salt to the open sky that dazzles by the infinite vastness of white color that conform them. Then the descent begins by Cuesta de Lipan where condors are generally seen, arrival to the typical town Purmamarca and its Hill of the Seven Colors. Return to Salta.
