Start with a visit to the Royal Grand Palace, a great architectural masterpiece of several buildings, which was used as a royal residence from the 18th century to the mid-20th century. It is without any doubt a national reference and possibly the most visited royal monument of Thailand. Located right next to the Grand Palace is Wat Pho, Bangkok’s oldest temple, famed for its giant golden reclining Buddha and its traditional Thai massage school. Next, visit the Wat Traimit temple with its 5.5-tonne Golden Buddha statue. Have the evening free at leisure. Perhaps you could indulge yourself with a traditional Thai massage, surprise your taste buds with the amazing local flavours, and watch a mesmerising sunset in any of the stylish rooftop bars which have blossomed in the city’s skyscrapers in recent years.

Grand Palace
The Grand Palace is a complex of buildings at the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. The palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam (and later Thailand) since 1782. The Grand Palace is currently partially open to the public as a museum, but it remains a working palace, with several royal offices still situated inside.
Wat Pho
Also spelled Wat Po, it is a Buddhist temple complex in the Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok, Thailand. It is on Rattanakosin Island, directly south of the Grand Palace. Known also as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, its official name is Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan.
Temple of the Golden Buddha
This highly revered temple contains the Golden Image Buddha, which is made of solid gold and weighs approximately 5 ½ tons, located in Bangkok, Thailand. At one point in its history the statue was covered with a layer of stucco and coloured glass to conceal its true value. During relocation of the statue in 1955, the plaster was chipped off and the gold revealed.
Depart from Bangkok and head to Maeklong Railway Marker. Upon arrival, the guide will introduce you to the history of this area. See the action in several minutes before the train passing through the market. The process happens so quick it will amaze you for the unique moment. Then go to the world-famous floating market of “Damnoen Saduak”, there are countless floating markets throughout the country, the colourfully clad merchants at these lively markets paddle along congested canals in sturdy canoes laden with fresh fruits and vegetables to sell to shoppers on the banks. Transfer back to Bangkok.

Maeklong Railway Market
The railway became famous for its route through the Maeklong Railway Market. It is one of the largest fresh seafood markets in Thailand, and is centred on the Maeklong Railway's track. Whenever a train approaches, the awnings and shop fronts are moved back from the rails, to be replaced once the train has passed.
Damnoen Saduak District, Thailand

Bang Pa-In Royal Palace
A palace complex formerly used by the Thai kings.King Prasat Thong constructed the original complex in 1632, but it fell into disuse and became overgrown in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, until King Mongkut began to restore the site in the mid-19th century. Most of the present buildings were constructed between 1872 and 1889 by King Chulalongkorn.

The Wat Mahathat is a Buddhist temple in Ayutthaya, central Thailand.
Built in 1324, 26 years before Ayutthaya became the capital, this royal temple reflects strong Chinese heritage. Its main hall houses a massive seated Buddha about 19 meters high, traditionally linked to Zheng He’s voyages. Local Chinese communities call it “Sam Po Temple.”
Founded in 1357 by King U-Thong for monks returning from Sri Lanka. Its name means “Great Victory,” commemorating King Naresuan’s elephant-back duel. It is known for its massive chedi and reclining Buddha, and remains one of Ayutthaya’s most intact ancient temples.

Its ornate all-white exterior, with embedded pieces of mirror, gives it a resplendent appearance, making it one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand. Continue to Chiang Rai for lunch. Afterwards, head to the Golden Triangle, where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet. This natural wilderness gained an unwanted notoriety in the 1960s because of the abundant opium cultivation in the area. Then enjoy a boat trip around the Golden Triangle with a stop at Don Sao Island, which forms part of Laos (boat trip lasts approx. 45 minutes). After, visit the 212 House of Opium and stroll around its rare collection of opium paraphernalia such as weights, scales and pipes. Learn the history of this drug and about the devastating effect its trade had on local communities.

Comfortable and light clothing is the most suitable for travelling in Thailand. Visitors should not wear sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or skimpy clothing when visiting temples, religious or official buildings. Shoes should be removed before entering a temple or private house. Sun protection, sunglasses, a hat and mosquito repellent can be very useful during your stay.
