Meal: Excluded
Departure from Cancun to Merida, we will visit Tulum in the south of Cancun. This Mayan city built on the seashore was important for the great commercial network the Mayas established with Central America. After this we head towards Coba the largest Mayan city of the peninsula which was the commercial land controller of its time by a huge network of roads; the longest goes for 100 km - connecting the site with other important cities of their time. The day ends in Merida for the night
  • Tulum, MX

It is the most photogenic site in the region and perhaps the whole country with warm starry nights and clear turquoise waters. One of the most important sites in Tulum is its Mayan ruins, located on a cliff facing the Caribbean Sea.
  • Coba, MX

The Coba Ruins was once an important Mayan city. The village is quiet and cute, with a croc-filled lagoon, a series of cenotes, a state's tallest pyramid, a beautiful ball court and a variety of other structures.
  • Merida, MX

Merida is the capital of Mexico's Yucatan state. It is located in the northwest of the state, about 35 kilometers (22 miles) from the gulf of Mexico. In 2003, the city had a population of 793,000, ranking 11th in all the Mexico.

Day 2: Merida - Uxmal - Merida (181 km)

Deluxe Hotel: Gran Real Yucatan (AB) or similar
Breakfast: Included|Lunch: Excluded|Dinner: Excluded
Departure from Merida to Uxmal; the thrice built city of the Maya of the southern lands of Yucatan better known as the "Puuc region" Mayan word for "highlands". The governor's house and the temple of the magician are considered architectural wonders by experts for their precise construction and beauty. An unforgettable experience walking in one of the most decorated and beautiful cities the Maya built. Kabah is also part of the “Puuc region” characterized by the prominence of "Chaac", the rain god, who is venerated, conjured and evoked through the magical repetition of this image. It will also be part of our day. Return to Merida.
  • Uxmal, MX

Located in the North of Yucatan, the city is a commercial and political powerhouse. The ruins of the ancient city of Uxmal are well preserved and are considered one of the architectural masterpieces of the mayan civilization. Many of the buildings are made of well-cut stones, not putty, and the overall style is elegant and beautiful.

    Kabah

A Maya archaeological site in the Puuc region of western Yucatan. The site is on Fed 261, as a popular tourism destination. Ruins extend for a considerable distance on both sides of the highway; many of the more distant structures are little visited, and some are still overgrown with forest.

Day 3: Merida - Chichen Itza - Valladolid - Cancun (306 km)

Breakfast: Included|Lunch: Excluded|Dinner: Excluded
On the way back to Cancun we visit the archaeological site of Chichen Itza the "Month of the Well of the Itzaes" with its impressive constructions: the splendid Castle or Pyramid of Kukulcan which is a great example of the advanced civilization that lived there, the Ball Game. The Observatory and the Sacred Well will take your breath away. Valladolid, a colonial city founded in 1543 will be visited before the final descent back to Cancun.
  • Chichen Itza, MX

    Chichen Itza, MX
Chichen Itza is the largest of the archaeological cities of the pre-Columbian Maya civilization in the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico. It is one of Mexico's most visited tourist destinations. It was granted World Heritage Site status in 1988 by UNESCO World Heritage Site and was recently selected as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

    El Castillo

El Castillo, or the Temple of Kukulkan, is the pyramid in the ancient city of Chichen Itza. Unfortunately, visitors are not currently allowed to climb the structure's massive steps, but merely to stand at its base awe-inspiring.

    Ball Game Court

The Ball Game Court at Chichen Itza is where the ancient Mayans would play a game that was very popular across early Mesoamerican civilizations. The court here is one of the largest and best-preserved of those that survive.

    El Caracol

    El Caracol
El Caracol, the observatory at Chichen Itza, stands as a testament to the advanced scientific minds of the ancient Mayans, a structure in which they would practice astronomy, a study in which these people were ahead of their time.
  • Valladolid, MX

Valladolid is a lovely colonial city in the state of Yucatan. It's streets and buildings retain a strong sense of the past. This peaceful town is also a great place from which to explore Yucatan state.
