This city in northern Thailand started as the ancient capital of the Lan Na Kingdom from the 13th to 18th century. It has developed into a modern city and the busiest hub in northern Thailand.
Indulge in a delicious breakfast and then enjoy a half day tour giving you an overview of this beautiful city. We take the winding road up the side of the hill overlooking the city to visit the most significant temple in Chiang Mai, the 600-year-old Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, which lays 3,500 feet above sea level. Inside you will find the symbol of the city, the copper-plated Chedi that is topped by a five-tier gold parasol, which contains relics of the Lord Buddha. From the terrace, on a clear day, you will have a fine panoramic view of the entire city. Once you get there, that final climb up the 306 steps of the Naga staircase (a Thai mythological Dragon-headed serpent) will seem worth it! In the city, we will see the Kings glorious flower garden temple at Wat Suan Dok with a large central Stupa, and Wat Chedi Luang which consists of an impressive Chedi, originally built in 1411 and Wat Pra That Doi Suthep (the most outstanding landmark of Chiang Mai 3,500 feet above sea level).

Wat Phra That Doi Suthep
Wat Phra That Doi Suthep is a Theravada wat in Chiang Mai Province, Thailand. It is a sacred site to many Thai people. The temple is 15 kilometres from the city of Chiang Mai. From the temple, impressive views of downtown Chiang Mai can be seen.
Wat Chedi Luang
At the very heart of the old city and begun in the late 14th century, this temple once housed the Emerald Buddha. Its massive Lanna-style chedi originally rose nearly 98 metres; reduced to about 42 metres by earthquake and war, the ruined core remains Chiang Mai’s most striking historic landmark.
Wat Suan Dok
Built on the site of a 14th-century Lanna royal garden, this temple features a 48-metre Sri Lankan-style bell-shaped golden chedi enshrining Buddha relics. The surrounding white stupas mark the royal cemetery, and the sunset views are renowned.
Depart for Lamphun to visit Wat Phra That Hariphunchai, a golden temple complex whose origins have been traced to the Mon Kingdom in the eighth century, before arriving at the picturesque town of Lampang to visit the historic temple of Wat Phra That Lampang Luang. After lunch, relax with a scenic drive to Sukhothai Historical Park, arriving in the late afternoon. Explore the park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering the ruins of ancient Sukhothai, which was the first capital of the kingdom of the same name.

Wat Phra Si Sanphet was the holiest temple on the site of the old Royal Palace in Thailand's ancient capital of Ayutthaya until the city was completely destroyed by the Burmese in 1767. It was the grandest and most beautiful temple in the capital and it served as a model for Wat Phra Kaeo in Bangkok.

An interactive museum and research centre in Kanchanaburi. Through photographs, artefacts and reconstructed scenes, it documents the construction of the Thailand–Burma Railway and the harrowing ordeal of the POWs and Asian labourers who built it.
War Cemetery
The principal POW cemetery for those who died building the Burma Railway. Nearly 7,000 graves lie in immaculate, solemn rows on quiet lawns, a moving tribute to the victims of the “Death Railway”.
Death Railway Bridge
The most famous span of the Death Railway, immortalised by Pierre Boulle’s novel and the classic film The Bridge on the River Kwai. Visitors can walk across the bridge, now a powerful landmark of remembrance.

Nakhon Pathom, Thailand
One of Thailand’s oldest cities and the cradle of Theravada Buddhism in the country. Its Pali name means “First City,” and it is dominated by the world’s tallest stupa, Phra Pathom Chedi, which remains a major pilgrimage site for Thai Buddhists.
Phra Pathommachedi
The tallest stupa in the world, rising about 127 metres in a golden, bell-shaped form. As the symbol of Nakhon Pathom and a milestone of Thai Buddhist architecture, it enshrines sacred relics and dominates the provincial skyline.

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
A floating market located in the Damnoen Saduak District, Ratchaburi Province located about 100 kilometres southwest of Bangkok, Thailand. Start with a visit to the Royal Grand Palace, a great architectural masterpiece of several buildings, which was used as a royal residence from the 18th century to the mid-20th century. Grand Palace
The Grand Palace is a complex of buildings at the heart of Bangkok, Thailand. The palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam (and later Thailand) since 1782. The Grand Palace is currently partially open to the public as a museum, but it remains a working palace, with several royal offices still situated inside.
Wat Pho
Also spelled Wat Po, it is a Buddhist temple complex in the Phra Nakhon District, Bangkok, Thailand. It is on Rattanakosin Island, directly south of the Grand Palace. Known also as the Temple of the Reclining Buddha, its official name is Wat Phra Chetuphon Wimon Mangkhalaram Rajwaramahawihan.
Temple of the Golden Buddha
This highly revered temple contains the Golden Image Buddha, which is made of solid gold and weighs approximately 5 ½ tons, located in Bangkok, Thailand. At one point in its history the statue was covered with a layer of stucco and coloured glass to conceal its true value. During relocation of the statue in 1955, the plaster was chipped off and the gold revealed.

Comfortable and light clothing is the most suitable for travelling in Thailand. Visitors should not wear sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts or skimpy clothing when visiting temples, religious or official buildings. Shoes should be removed before entering a temple or private house. Sun protection, sunglasses, a hat and mosquito repellent can be very useful during your stay.
