Itinerary
Your day begins with a hotel pickup in Cusco between 4:30 and 4:45 am. Travel by private vehicle for approximately two hours to Rimactampu, where you stop for breakfast. Continue by road for about one hour through the Limatambo region toward the community of Qoyllor, arriving at the starting point of the trek. From here, see the Aobamba mountain range and the snow-capped Humantay peak; wildlife such as deer or the Andean condor may be spotted if conditions allow. Begin trekking for about two hours with panoramic mountain views, arriving at the turquoise Incachiriasqa Lagoon. Continue to Salkantay Pass at 4,750 meters, where Salkantay Mountain dominates the landscape. After taking in the views, descend for about two hours to the Inca House Camp in Soraypampa. Spend the night at the camp, with the chance to stargaze and observe constellations in the clear mountain air. The Salkantay route has long served as a vital passage for Andean communities, connecting valleys and sacred sites across the region.

From Soraypampa, the route leads to Humantay Lagoon, which is revered in Andean culture and is a place where local traditions often leave offerings to honor mountain spirits. Following lunch, continue with a one-hour walk to reach your waiting vehicle. From here, travel by car for approximately three hours through the Sacred Valley, heading toward Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, have dinner and spend the night.

Humantay Lake
Humantay Lake is a stunning turquoise alpine lake nestled in the Andes, surrounded by snow-capped peaks. It's a popular trekking destination offering breathtaking views and a serene natural setting.
Begin the day with breakfast in Ollantaytambo before heading to the train station. Board the train to Km 104, the starting point of the Inca Trail trek. After disembarking, hike approximately 9 kilometers along the Inca Trail, passing mountain landscapes and archaeological sites on the way to Intipunku, the Sun Gate. At the Sun Gate, enjoy panoramic views of Machu Picchu and take time to photograph the citadel from above. Afterward, take a bus down to the town of Aguas Calientes, check in to your hotel, and spend the night.

Aguas Calientes, Peru
This town sits 20 minutes down the mountain from Machu Picchu. Its name, "hot waters" in English, derives from the presence of numerous thermal springs in the area that make thisvillage a great place to relax after a hike.
Start the day at Machu Picchu, entering the citadel via route 3B. A guide leads a two-hour tour, providing detailed insight into the history, architecture, and significance of this ancient Inca site. After the guided tour, take the bus back down to Aguas Calientes, return to your hotel to collect your belongings, and proceed to the train station. Board the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival in Ollantaytambo, a private vehicle is waiting to transfer you directly back to Cusco, where your journey concludes.

We encourage our travellers to check-in at our offices a couple of hours before or any day prior to the briefing , that way we can give everybody personal attention and information regarding booking extras, rental equipment or questions in general.

Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
Itinerary Variations: We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
Tour Cancellation: We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
