A safety lesson on the properties of the kayak, how to properly operate the kayak will be demonstrated by your tour guide, how to properly, and safely, get in and out of your kayak (demonstrated by your tour guide), and overall safety protocols while on the Colorado River.
After demonstrating proper balance and maneuvering techniques to your guide, you will then be assigned a kayak and helped onto the water by your tour guide.
We'll be hanging out while listening to different songs, curated by both the tour guide and yourself, with the help of the Lotus Lantern app. (you'll have to download the app before arriving at Willow Beach) Your tour guide will demonstrate how to use the app before getting into the water.
While everyone paddles at a different rate, we'll be sticking together as a group and won't go any further than the Fish Hatchery.
The night ends with a nice little bonfire on the beach, with smores and campfire stories. After being given some time to dry off and change, you'll then be dropped back off at your selected hotel.
1. Are dogs allowed to kayak with us?
Yes, we allow all dogs to join the excursion. Any animal under 15 lbs is free of charge, but for the comfort of animals above 15 lbs, we ask you to purchase a separate seat for them. You are required to bring a water bowl and a life jacket with reflective lights for your furbabies.
2. Are we allowed to bring our snacks?
Absolutely! You're more than welcome to bring your snacks, drinks, dinner, etc. As long as youâre able to carry it with you.
3. Do you guys have special snacks for people with allergies?
Unfortunately not, you'll have to bring your snacks, as we currently only provide goldfish crackers, lays chips, and unlimited ice water.
4. What should we wear?
Anything you think you'll be the most comfortable in! We do recommend water shoes with some traction, a swimsuit, or anything you're okay with getting wet is fine. Athletic gear is a nice option as well, the material athletic wear is made from drying extremely quickly and is a bit lighter when wet compared to standard clothing.
5. Can I bring a bag/backpack?
Of course, you can! There's some space on the back of the kayak youâll be able to lock your stuff in, thereâs also plenty of room in between your legs and on the kayak itself. Please note, that OutdoorsterLV is not held liable or responsible for anything lost, stolen, or broken.
6. How long is the excursion?
You'll be spending about 2 hours on the water while enjoying the stars and neon lights!
7. What time does the excursion start?
Our excursions start to pick up at 3 PM, youâll need to be at your designated pickup spot at 5:10 AM. Our starting time is subject to change by sunset time, so please overview the text message / email your tour guide will send you the night before your booked date, as that will have the confirmed start time we'll need you at your designated spots.
8. What time will we be back on the strip?
You guys should be back no later than 10 PM.
9. If we're currently handicapped (i.e. crutches, leg issues) would we still be able to enjoy the excursion?
Absolutely. I'd pair you up with our tour guide, and he'd be able to help assist you with paddling and overall satisfaction. If for some reason youâre unable to physically get into the kayak, and are unable to proceed with the excursion due to physical limitations, we would honor a refund for your ticket alone.
10. Do I have to be with a guide, or do you guys rent kayaks?
Unfortunately, at night we are unable to provide rentals
11. I know the water levels are currently low, does that affect the excursion at all?
Not at all! The Colorado River looks amazing at the moment, and the low levels at Lake Mead haven't affected our outings at all.
