The drop-off time to Union Station is at 6:30 PM on the last day. Union Station to LAX is about 45 minutes away on average. You want to allow sufficient time to travel to LAX & check-in on time . At least 3 hours from arrival time is advised.

In San Francisco there was an optional in-depth city tour, and I joined it — we saw Twin Peaks and City Hall, and the guide explained things in detail. I skipped the bay cruise and just walked around the wharf on my own, and I didn't feel like I missed out.

The 17-Mile Drive stretch stayed with me the most. The sea breeze was strong, and I actually saw seals lounging on the rocks. We stopped at the Lone Cypress for around twenty minutes, and I just stood by the cliff for a while — that tree feels like it carries a story.

The three days were actually pretty packed. The first day was a long drive before we reached Monterey, and I got a bit sleepy on the bus. But the second day in San Francisco felt more relaxed — wandering around Fisherman's Wharf at an easy pace was something I appreciated.
