Today we'll see one of the most beautiful scenic areas in Europe, the region of the Italian Lakes. First, we'll travel to Lake Orta in Orta San Giulio, a well-preserved medieval city. We'll take a train ride to reach the medieval center of the town and then a boat to the Island of San Giulio, a little island on the lake with a monastery. After this, we'll go on to Lake Maggiore, making a stop in Stresa, where we'll have the option to visit the Borromean Islands. The highlight is Isola Bella, featuring its gardens and palace (closed in the winter). We'll have some time for lunch and then we'll head to Verona.

We'll have time to explore Verona, the enchanting city of Romeo and Juliet, before departing for Venice, arriving around 01:00 p.m. A delightful boat trip to St. Mark’s Square is included, followed by a guided walking tour of the City of Canals, including a visit to see Murano glasswork. Afterwards, enjoy some leisure time - perhaps a gondola ride? Accommodation will be in the Mestre district.

    Venice's Grand Canal is the major canal in the city's expansive system. It takes an S-shaped path through the length of the city, and is used for public transportation as well as tourism; Gondola rides for visitors are popular.

    Murano

    This small series of islands within the Venetian Lagoon is connected by canals and footbridges. It is famous for its vibrantly colorful houses and the signature glass manufactured on the islands.

    Gondola Ride

    The canals of Venice are what make this city iconic. Gondolas are special boats designed to navigate these channels. No visit to Venice is complete without a romantic ride down the canals on a gondola.Musicians 1 tenor and one accordionist for the gondola group.

We'll embark on our journey to Padua, a revered destination for many pilgrims, where we'll visit the magnificent Saint's Basilica. Our adventure will continue to the stunning Adriatic coast, bringing us to San Marino, a charming independent country perched atop a fortified mountain. After lunch, we'll traverse the picturesque Apennines, soaking in the breathtaking mountain scenery as we head to Gubbio, a beautifully preserved town known for the impressive Palace of Consuls and the 12th-century cathedral. Finally, we'll arrive in the enchanting city of Perugia.

    The city is picturesque, with a dense network of arcaded streets opening into large communal piazze, and many bridges crossing the various branches of the Bacchiglione, which once surrounded the ancient walls like a moat. Padua is the setting for most of the action in Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew.

Day 5: Perugia - Assisi - Naples (300 km)

We'll go on a panoramic tour of Perugia, a beautiful historic city, also known as the city of chocolate. Accompanied by a local guide, we'll ascend via the moving walkways that cross the rocky outcrop and be amazed as we explore its medieval underground city, with stone-paved streets and charming squares. Afterwards, we'll head to Assisi, where we'll have time for lunch and a visit to the Basilica of St. Francis. In the afternoon, we'll continue our journey south (sometimes stopping in Rome to drop off passengers). We'll arrive in Naples in the evening.

After breakfast, we'll head to the port of Naples to board a ferry to the Island of Capri, where we recommend taking the funicular up to Capri town to stroll around and enjoy the stunning views. After lunch, we'll reboard and head to Sorrento, a charming tourist town nestled at the base of a cliff, where you'll have free time to wander. Our journey will then take us to the Gulf of Salerno, where we'll stay in the city of Salerno.

We'll begin our day with a visit to Pompeii, where you'll have the chance to admire the remains of this ancient Roman city, buried by the ashes of Mount Vesuvius (tickets and guided tour included). Afterward, we'll head to Naples, one of Italy's most captivating cities and among the oldest continuously inhabited areas in Europe. The historic quarter of Naples, one of the largest in Europe, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll have time to explore and enjoy lunch. We'll then continue to Cassino, where you can visit the breathtaking abbey, the site of one of World War II's fiercest battles. Today will conclude in Rome, arriving in the evening.

    118 dollars will be charged if cancel or change within or more than 31 days before departure date (not including departure date).
    10% of total fee and 118 dollars will be charged if cancel or change within 30 days before departure date (not including departure date).
    50% of total fee and 118 dollars will be charged if cancel or change within 15 days before departure date (not including departure date).
    75% of total fee and 118 dollars will be charged if cancel or change within 7 days before departure date (not including departure date).
    Absolutely NO refund on all cancellations or postponements within 1 day prior to departure (not including departure date).
    The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour..
