Itinerary

Overview

Depart early from Montreal for a guided tour of Old Quebec, exploring Petit-Champlain's cobblestone streets, Chateau Frontenac, Place Royale, and Terrasse Dufferin. Enjoy free time for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, embark on a 1.5-hour St. Lawrence River cruise aboard the AML Louis Jolliet, passing lle d'Orleans with panoramic views. Conclude at Montmorency Falls (84m), with options to walk the suspension bridge, hike trails, or ride the cable car (seasonal). Return to Montreal by 8:30 PM.

Quebec City, QC

Quebec City is one of the oldest cities in North America. It was founded by Samuel de Champlain in 1608, and some of the architecture in Old Quebec dates back centuries. The Chateau Frontenac is the most famous landmark.

Montmorency Falls

The Montmorency Falls are 275-foot-high waterfall on the Montmorency River in Quebec, Canada, and mark the point at which that river drops off into the larger St. Lawrence. The area is very tourist-friendly and easily accessible.

Montmorency Falls Cable Car

Can't miss this cable car that allows you to observe the awesome view of the Montmorency Falls by taking you from the parking lot to a terminal alongside the Falls where provides a pathway that leads close to the water's edge.

Old Quebec City Tour

Petit Champlain

Petit Champlain is a neighborhood in Quebec City, Canada. It is located in the district of Vieux-Quebec-colline in the borough of La Cite-Limoilou, near Place Royale. It is the oldest commercial district in North America.

Chateau Frontenac

The Fairmont Le Chateau Frontenac is a famous grand hotel and a National Historic Site of Canada. The hotel, which is essentially a castle, sits on a hilltop in the city, and is perhaps the most-photographed hotel in the world.

Dufferin Terrace

This walkway sits right along the banks of the St. Lawrence River in Quebec City, providing exquisite views of the river and the Chateau Frontenac. It is particularly lovely after it has snowed.

Place Royale

Place Royale is a historic square located in the Lower Town area of Old Quebec. It was established as a trading post by Samuel de Champlain, the founder of Quebec City, and is now an important cultural site.

AML Guided Sightseeing River Cruises

Board the AML Louis Jolliet for a 1.5-hour guided cruise. Sail from Old Quebec to Montmorency Falls, passing by lle d'Orleans, and admire breathtaking views of Chateau Frontenac and the river panorama.

I recommend the tour but not the bus. It was freezing cold during the 3-hour trip btw Montreal and Quebec giving us headaches. I requested several times to shut down the air conditioner but no response.

Absolutely astonishing tour. For less than 100$CAD, it was totally worth it. The places were beautiful, the time was appropriate for the activities, the food arranged by the guide was pretty good and the guide herself was very considerate with everyone, making it a memorable one. She was quite organized, , attentive, and clear with the activities. I highly recommend this tour.
