Day 1: Paris - Rouen - Honfleur - Normandy - Caen(249 km)

Today we will leave Paris and drive northwest toward the French coast. Our first stop will be the town of Rouen, FR, where we will embark on a sightseeing tour that will take us past places such as the Rouen Cathedral. From there, we will head to the beaches of Normandy, FR. We will explore the history of the area at the Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial and Arromanches-les-Baines before retiring to the town of Caen for the night.

Rouen, FRANCE

A city on the River Seine in the north of France. It is the capital of the region of Normandy. Formerly one of the largest and most prosperous cities of medieval Europe, Rouen was the seat of the Exchequer of Normandy during the Middle Ages.

Rouen Cathedral

This 800-plus year old cathedral in northwestern France is a dramatic example of the type of architecture that dominates the Gothic tradition. Its many intricate spires and elaborate stained glass have made it popular with visitors the world over.

One of the 18 regions of France, roughly referring to the historical Duchy of Normandy.It covers 30,627 square kilometres,comprising roughly 5% of the territory of metropolitan France.

Arromanches-les-Baines

This small township on the northeastern coast of France is significant due to its location at the center of the area in which the Allied invasion of Axis-occupied France took place on D-Day during World War II.

Normandy American Cemetery and Memorial

This military cemetery and war memorial near the northern coast of France serves as a tribute to the American soldiers who died in Europe during World War II, particularly those who were killed during the invasion of Normandy on D-Day.

Day 2: Caen - Saint-Malo - Le Mont-Saint-Michel - Paris(582 km)

Today, we will visit the walled port town of Saint-Malo, taking a guided tour of the area. Next, we will head to Mont-Saint-Michel, a tiny island commune, where we will take a tour of the castle and the Abbey. After that, we will return to Paris. Please see "Departure and Return" for more detailed information regarding pickup and drop-off times and locations.

Le Mont-Saint-Michel, FRANCE

is an island commune in Normandy, France. It is located about one kilometre (0.6 miles) off the country's northwestern coast, at the mouth of the Couesnon River near Avranches. 100 hectares (247 acres) in size, the island has a population of 44 (2009).

Mont Saint-Michel

Mont Saint-Michel is a town of 44 people located on an island off the coast of Normandy. The island is dominated by a massive castle that is one of France's most popular landmarks. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Mont Saint Michel Abbey

Located on the miraculous island on Mont Saint-Michel, this abbey is the most prominent building in the town and was essential to the structure of the feudal society.

Redemption

You will receive a confirmation email (e-ticket) after your order is received. Complete operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, is included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.
