After pickup in Quito, we will visit San Pablo Lake, sample some local cuisine like biscochos, visit Otavalo Market, and attend a local weaving workshop, which are all perfect activities to learn about the culture, traditions, and history of the indigenous people of northern Ecuador.
Otavalo, Ecuador
Capital of Otavalo Canton, has a population largely made up of the Otavalo indigenous group. It is located in Imbabura Province of Ecuador. It is surrounded by the peaks of Imbabura (4,630 metres (15,190 ft)), Cotacachi (4,995 metres (16,388 ft)), and Mojanda volcanoes.
Today, guests can choose between two options. The first is a 5-hour hike around Cuicocha Lake, during which we will enjoy the spectacular views of the area and the volcanoes surrounding us. The second option is a visit to Cuicocha Lake, Condor Park, or to a family of musicians who will play traditional Andean instruments. Afterwards, we will return to Quito, bringing an end to this tour.
