Day 1: Reykjavik

Welcome to Iceland! The tour guide will pick you up at 16:20 from Keflavik International Airport to the hotel. (If the flight time is not suitable, you will need to go to the hotel on your own)

Day 2: Reykjavik - Golden Circle - South Coast (92 km)

After breakfast, discover Iceland’s stunning natural wonders on the Golden Circle! It is one of the most popular tourist routes in Iceland, encompassing three of the country’s most spectacular natural attractions. You will explore the dramatic rift between two continents, learn about Viking history at [Thingvellir (Þingvellir) National Park], and marvel at the breathtaking geysers of the [Geysir Geothermal Area] and the magnificent [Gullfoss Waterfall]. After checking into your hotel for the night, during winter, you can venture out to search for the Northern Lights if the forecast is favorable.
  • Golden Circle, ICELAND

    Iceland's Golden Circle is the country's most popular tourist route, featuring several of the top geological formations in the country, such as the geysers of Strokkur and Geysir, as well as the Gullfoss waterfall.

    Geysir

    Considered the first geyser discovered by modern Europeans, the eruptions of Geysir can send boiling water up to 70 meters in the air. Only 50 meters away is Strokkur, another famous Icelandic geyser.

    Gullfoss

    This waterfall in southwest Iceland is one of the country's most popular tourist destinations. It is a multi-tiered waterfall, which all empties into a crevice 32 meters deep.

Day 3: South Coast

We set out to explore Iceland’s South Coast. To start, we’ll drive to [Seljalandsfoss]. If the weather permits, you can walk behind the waterfall and see the cascade from the other side. Nearby stands [Skógafoss], which can be admired both from below and from the top after a climb of about 500 steps. Continuing our journey, we’ll head to [Reynisfjara], a world-famous black sand beach with dramatic basalt sea stacks. After checking into your hotel for the night, during winter, you can venture out to search for the Northern Lights if the forecast is favorable.

Day 4: South Coast - Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon

After breakfast, we’ll head to Vatnajökull, the largest glacier in Iceland. Icebergs break off from the glacier’s edge and crash into [Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon]. Nearby, you can stroll along [Diamond Beach], a stunning black sand beach famous for its large iceberg fragments. During the winter season (Nov to Mar), we'll visit the [Crystal Ice Cave]. Led by an expert glacier guide, you’ll be able to safely explore and admire this extraordinary natural wonder. During the summer season(May- Oct), we will take an [Amphibian Boat Tour] of the glacier lagoon.

    It is the largest national park in Europe, covering a total area of 12,850 km2 or almost 13% of Iceland, also has been nominated for inclusion on the Unesco World Heritage list.

    his is a photographer’s paradise, with the blue ice washing up on the black sand shore creating a bewitching disparity in colour.

    Jokulsarlon

    This large glacial lake in Iceland is growing all the time due to the nearby glaciers melting. It has been featured in four movies, including Batman Begins and two James Bond films.

    Blue Ice Cave

    It is the central feature of the Vatnajökull National park, found in the south west of Iceland, known for its incredibly turquoise blue colors.

Day 5: Reykjavik - Blue Lagoon (82 km)

The highlight of the day is your time at the [Blue Lagoon] (optional), with its milky blue water rich in minerals, offering great healing benefits for the skin and providing the perfect way to relax.

    Tjornin

    This small lake in the center of Reykjavik sits right next to city hall. It is one of the most popular places in the world to feed local birds.

    Hallgrimskirkja

    Hallgrimskirkja is a Lutheran Church in Reykjavik and the largest church in Iceland. Founded in 1945, Hallgri-mskirkja was architecturally designed to resemble the lava flows of Iceland's landscape. The church is also used as an observation tower.

    Perlan

    Situated in Iceland's capital city of Reykjavik, Perlan is a landmark building and exhibition space. The ground floor of the building, known as Winter Garden, houses concerts and events, while the fourth floor provides guests with viewing deck. The top floor is home to a revolving restaurant.

    Harpa

    This concert hall and concert center in Reykjavik opened in 2011. The geometric glass panels on the exterior are differing colors, giving the building a sleek, modern look.

    A fishing town on the Southern Peninsula of Iceland.It is one of the few cities with a harbour at this coast. Most of the inhabitants work in the fishing industry. The Blue Lagoon, Grindavik's premiere attraction, is located 3 miles (4.8 km) from the town centre.

    Warm up in the Blue Lagoon, a geothermal spalocated in a lava field in southwestern Iceland, in Grindavik. Visitors can swim and relax in mineral rich water, said to have health benefits, in temperatures averaging 37-39'C (99-102'F).

Day 6: Snæfellsnes - Reykjavik (98 km)

If you do not want to visit the Snæfellsnes Peninsula Tour, we will depart for Keflavik International Airport at 6 am. If you want to, we will head to the Snæfellsnes peninsula and experience the stunning natural beauty and breathtaking imagery. Here, you will find one of the peninsula’s most iconic and photographed landmarks, Kirkjufell Mountain (also known as The Church Mountain). It became famous after being featured as the “Arrowhead Mountain” in Game of Thrones. The mountain’s unique shape was formed by the erosive powers of glaciers during the last Ice Age, about 12,000 years ago. Next, we will visit Lóndrangar, a pair of striking rock pinnacles. Then, we will arrive at Arnarstapi, a tiny fishing village known for its picturesque coastal cliffs, formed from glowing magma colliding with the wild waves of the Atlantic. It is regarded as the most beautiful harbor in Iceland. Finally, we will reach Búðakirkja, a quaint church that sits alone amid a field of lava rocks. Afterward, return to Reykjavik city.

***Note: The Snæfellsnes Peninsula tour on this day is only available for guests who drop off at the Harpa Concert Hall parking lot. If you choose to drop off on Day 6 at the hotel or at Keflavik International Airport, the Snæfellsnes Peninsula tour will not be included.

    A peninsula situated in western Iceland. It has been named Iceland in Miniature, because many national sights can be found in the area, including the Snaefellsjokull volcano, regarded as one of the symbols of Iceland.

    Known for its jagged peak as well as its role in the TV show Game of Thrones, a mesmerising natural feature which many consider to be the most photographed mountain in Iceland

  • Booking changes
    A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply. Please be noted that we do not allow departure change 48 hours before departure.
  • Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
    Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office.   • Cancellation Policy
    We will charge a cancellation fee of 5% if booking is cancelled 365 days or less before the event
    We will charge a cancellation fee of 20% if booking is cancelled 30 days or less before the event
    We will charge a cancellation fee of 50% if booking is cancelled 14 days or less before the event
    We will charge a cancellation fee of 100% if booking is cancelled 7 days or less before the event

    If a customer wishes to change any part of a booking, service fee will be charged.

  • Itinerary Variations
    We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
  • Tour Cancellation:
    We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
