Day 1: Anchorage

Today we will arrive in Anchorage (Airport Code: ANC) and then transfer to hotel.

Day 2: Anchorage

Today we will go to Matanuska Glacier and walk on the ice with professional guidance! It is sunny around the area and a MUST-GO place for travelers. The weather in Matanuska Glacier is more favorable than its nearby cities because there is a weather hole that cold air from the glacier forces the warm air up to the mountain peaks. We will back to Anchorage hotel at around 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Please be sure to wear anti-skid and warm shoes and comply with the guidance requirements during the hike and sign the disclaimer required by the park management office.

Matanuska Glacier Hiking

Matanuska Glacier is the source of the Matanuska River and is the largest vehicle accessible glacier in America. During the trek on the glacier, you will see layer up on layer of ice n brilliant blue colors.

1) It is recommended to wear a warm down jacket, velvet jacket, hat, scarf, anti-ski boots, sunglasses, etc., pay attention to the safety of your feet 2) Be sure to comply with the guide requirements during the walk and sign the disclaimer required by the Park Service 3) Free walking equipment such as helmets and non-slip shoe chains

Day 3: Anchorage - Fairbanks (259 miles)

In the morning we will drive to Anchorage train station to take Aurora Winter Train (8:30-20:00) heading to Fairbanks. After arrival, we will drive to hotel for rest. Around 22:00, we will head to Aurora Viewing Lodge to view aurora. We will return to hotel by 02:00.

Aurora Winter Train

Operated by the Alaska Railroad between the cities of Anchorage and Fairbanks, Alaska. It is a seasonal train, only operating during the non-summer months.

Day 4: Fairbanks City Tour

Depart from the hotel around 1:00 pm, we will enjoy Fairbanks city tour. Today we will visit Santa Claus House, University of Alaska Museum of the North. At 10:00pm, we will head to aurora viewing bar or Clear Summit Aurora Viewing Lodge to watch the aurora. Back to Fairbanks hotel around 2:00 am the next morning.

A Christmas-themed retail store in North Pole, Alaska. It was founded as a trading post alongside the Richardson Highway in 1952.

Today we will enjoy free day in Fairbanks. Around 22:00 we will visit Aurora Viewing Lodge and go back to hotel at 02:00. To enrich the day, guest can choose optional activity Chena Hot Spring Tour OR Denali National Park Walking Tour OR Castner Glacier Ice Cave.

Chena Hot Springs Resort

Chena Hot Springs was founded over 100 years ago. The resort makes use of the first low-temperature binary geothermal power plant built in Alaska and is working on several alternative energy projects, including production and use of hydrogen and vegetable oil for fuel.

1) You must wear a bathing suit in the hot springs, please prepare in advance. 2) For safety reasons, minors under age 18 may not enter the outdoor natural rock pool, but they may use the indoor pool and the outdoor hot tub. 3) If you choose not to enter the hot springs for your own reasons, the fee is not refundable. 4) Guaranteed operate with Just a Two-Person Minimum

Castner Glacier Ice Cave Tour

Expect to depart from Fairbanks in morning and drive south along the Richardson Highway to Castner Glacier Ice Cave. After getting off the bus, you will follow your guide on a hike of about 2 miles before reaching the largest valley ice cave. The ice layer accumulated over 10,000 years is crystal clear, and due to the interpenetration of the ice layer and the mineral matter of the mountain for many years, the charming yolan ice layer may occasionally appear metallic texture, such as Beautiful and elegant as gold and jade.

To enrich the trip, guests can choose to take Arctic Circle tour by land: We will drive through Dalton Highway, view Yulon River, Alaska Pipeline, arrive at Alaska's Arctic Circle ( the 66 ° 33 ' latitude) landmark, and be awarded a certificate of Arctic expeditions; Around 22:00, visit Aurora Viewing Lodge and return to hotel around 02:00. Guests can also choose to upgrade to Arctic Circle tour by flight.

Arctic Circle Drive Adventure

Take a bus to the Arctic Circle in the morning. Along the way, you can see Dalton Highway and Trans-Alaska Pipeline. More chances to see wildlife, such as caribou, arctic fox, wolf, moose etc.Cross the Arctic Circle and receive an official Arctic Circle Adventure Certificate.

Arctic Circle Fly Drive Adventure

Start by going to the airport to take a small sightseeing plane to the town of Coldfoot. From the plane you'll get majestic bird’s-eye views of the snow-covered tundra. Upon arrival, you can send a postcard to your friends and family at the Arctic Post Office. You’ll return to Fairbanks via the famous Dalton Highway on a specially equipped arctic bus. On the way, visit the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, the Yukon River, and the Alaska Arctic Circle (66°33' north) marker, where you will receive an "Arctic Circle Exploration Certificate".

Morning flight: Take a small sightseeing plane to the town of Coldfoot in 7:30AM, and we'll additional enjoy the Brooks Range Safari in Coldfoot. If the flight was canceled by wether, you’ll join the “Arctic Circle Drive Adventure” and get refund the difference
Afternoon flight: Take a small sightseeing plane to the town of Coldfoot in 11:30AM. If the flight was canceled by wether, the tour fee will be refunded, then you will enjoy a free day

Today we will transfer to Fairbanks airport for flight home. If you arrange flight after 21:00, you can take optional activity Ice fishing or Snowmobile.

Snowmobile

Snowmobile, known as a motor sled or a snowmachine, is a motorized vehicle designed for winter travel and recreation on snow.

Winter Ice-Fishing

Head out onto the ice (don't worry; it's safe!) to get a fishing experience like no other, as you watch a hole cut in the ice so you can drop your line below. Remember to dress warm!

The ice fishing project needs to purchase a fishing license. The tour guide will assist you to purchase the fishing license fee: $25/ person.

Additional Note

This journey requires a US visa.
Due to fire safety requirements in Alaska, extra beds cannot be added to hotel rooms. Every room is furnished with 2 beds.
The optional tour is affected by the weather factors. If the tour got cancelled, we will issue a refund.
If there is any discrepancy between the schedule and the tour guide, please refer to the guide time.
There are a few restaurants along the Arctic Circle where you can have lunch and dinner or prepare your own meals.
Aurora is a natural phenomenon and depends on solar activity. You are not guaranteed to see it.
The order of the trip will be adjusted according to your departure dates and weather conditions.
Note that plans from many cellular carriers do not work in Alaska, please make sure the number you provided can receive texts or calls after landing, otherwise an alternative communication method should be established beforehand.

Booking changes
A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply. Please be noted that we do not allow departure change 48 hours before departure.
Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to TakeTours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
Cancellation and Refund Policy:
TakeTours makes every effort to serve our customers better. We also advise all customers to purchase traveler's insurance in case of interruption, accidents, illness, or anything else that may come up. If a reservation has to be cancelled, customers will be charged a fee depending on how far from the departure date the cancellation takes place.

Notification day and departure day are NOT counted. Unused features are non-refundable. The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.NOTE: We cannot grant refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
Itinerary Variations
We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
Tour Cancellation
We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, TakeTours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
