This 18-day guided tour takes you from Barcelona to Madrid — stopping at every charming town in between. Walk through Barcelona with your Local Expert, from Passeig de Gràcia to the soaring Sagrada Família. Paella was created in Valencia, and you will indulge in the savory rice dish after a private demonstration from a local chef. Stomp your feet in Seville during a flamenco dance lesson, then relax as the professionals put on a private show for you and your fellow travelers. Walk across the 2,000-year-old Roman bridge in Córdoba, then meet a local historian at the city’s 8th-century mosque with a Christian cathedral inside it. In Madrid, walk with a Local Expert through the city’s Old Quarter to the Prado Museum, where an art historian will reveal the stories behind the masterpieces of artists such as Goya and Titian.

A Local Expert joins you for a drive along the Passeig de Gràcia, adorned with elegant wrought-iron street lamps and some of the most flamboyant Modernist buildings. Continue through the Eixample district to visit Gaudi’s extraordinary masterpiece, the Sagrada Família*, to see the central nave with its giant, tree-like pillars, spectacular vaulting and the beautiful rainbows flooding in through the intricate stained-glass windows. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore.*Please note that with the construction of the Sagrada Família nearing completion, access to the basilica may be restricted for special masses, pilgrim visits or official ceremonies, and we are unable to secure tickets to visit. Should this occur during your tour, you will visit the Hospital de Sant Pau instead, a striking example of Catalan Art Nouveau designed by Gaudí’s contemporary, Domènech i Montaner. Afterwards, join your Local Expert in the gardens surrounding the Sagrada Família and take in the extraordinary exterior of Gaudí’s iconic masterpiece.

- DAY 1: Complimentary arrival transfers depart Barcelona International Airport (BCN) at 09:30, 12:30 and 15:00 on the first day of the tour. Guests should arrive at least 2 hours before the last transfer time. Please be aware when booking your flights.
- DAY 18: Complimentary departure transfers arrive at Barcelona International Airport (BCN) on the last day of the tour at 07:00, 09:00 and 11:00.
- CHARGEABLE TRANSFERS: Chargeable transfers available in Madrid and Barcelona. Guests who have booked their extra hotel nights with Insight Vacations, or whose flight times do not coincide with the shuttle coach timings may purchase a chargeable transfer. However, guests booking independent hotel nights should make their own transfer arrangements.
- TRIP NOTE: Spanish Heritage is a combination of Highlights of Spain and Northern Spain; therefore guests may be leaving and/or joining in Madrid mid-tour.
- ALHAMBRA: Passport details are mandatory to purchase Alhambra tickets at least 100 days prior to departure. Access to attractions within Alhambra complex, including the Nasrid Palace, is at the discretion of the staff of the Alhambra. Passport details to purchase Alhambra tickets include Passengers Full First, Middle & Last Name, Passport Number and Nationality. Reminder: if there are NO passport details or they are INCORRECT/ INCOMPLETE, there is NO ticket/entrance to the Alhambra. Passenger information must match passport details exactly. Late Bookings inside 3 months: we cannot guarantee entrance, but we will do our absolute best to confirm, as long as we have passport details.
