    The Boston Tea Party was "the single most important event leading up to the American Revolution." Opening in June of 2012, the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum Is dedicated to telling the story of that fateful night of December 16, 1773.

    By combining cutting edge interactive technology with live historical performances, the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum offers an experience like no other. Throw tea overboard with the daring Sons of Liberty! Explore two historically restored tall ships! Gaze at the Robinson Half-Chest, one of only two surviving tea chests from the Boston Tea Party. Be inspired by the film "Let It Begin Here" in the Minuteman Theatre and learn the role that you will play in one of the most important events in American history.

    In addition to the museum, visit our breathtaking Abigail's Tea Room where you can enjoy freshly baked goods, a spot of tea and learn more about the types of tea thrown overboard in 1773.  Learn about the proper brewing process. (Additional cost to enter Abigail's Tea Room). And don't miss our enchanting Gift Shop chock full of gems to bring back home!

      This is a museum in Boston Harbor that contains information about the famous Boston Tea Party. At this museum, visitors can learn all about the event itself, as well as the famous historical figures involved , and the ensuing repercussions.

    • Operating Times: See online calendar for dates and times available. You must check in on-site between 15 minutes to 5 minutes prior to your tour time. Anyone not checked in within 5 minutes of the tour time will be considered a no show and their seats may be re-allocated.
      Off-Season Hours: November 1st, 2025 until March 31st, 2026
      The First Public Tour starts at 10am and the last tour starts at 4pm. Both the Gift shop and Abigail's Tea Room will stay open from 9:30am-5:00pm.

    Additional Note

    • Tickets can be used on any operating day within 12 months of the purchase date.
    • For GROUPS (15 or more) - please call Group Sales at 617-531-6241 prior to your arrival in order to help better coordinate your group's visit and confirm tour time.
    • Abigail's Tea Room open daily: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
    • Bakery items, as well as other hot and cold foods are offered, cafeteria-style throughout the day, at a per-item price.
    • On occasion the Boston Tea Party Ships & Museum may close early for special events.
    • Dec 16th- TOURS ARE FREE at the museum to celebrate the day of the Boston Tea Party!
    • This ticket does not guarantee a tour time. Due to capacity restrictions, entry to the museum is on a first come first serve basis. ALL guests must check in with the booth to receive a tour time, depending on availability.

    Confirmation

    • Your ticket(s) will be confirmed at the time of booking. Please allow up to 8 hours to receive the confirmation. Your booking will be processed as soon as possible.

    Redemption

    • For every confirmed booking you will be required to print a voucher which is presented at the destination.
    • Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your Confirmation Email.

    Terms & Condition

    • 24 hour notice is required to change or cancel tour.
    • All sales are final and attract 100% cancellation penalties.
    • Prices may vary subject to availability/season/weekend/holiday.
    • We reserve right to cancel a schedule to fully refund affected customers although we will make every effort to maintain the regular operation.
