1-Day Washington DC Cherry Blossom Tour from New York (Flushing or Manhattan)

Q: Where will we have meals in this tour?

Meals are NOT included in the tour price but our tour guide will arrange meal stops. Normally we stop at a plaza to have some fast food, or at an area with different restaurants and passengers can order.

Q: How do you arrange seats on the tours?

For 3-day tours or less, the seats are arranged according to the time of booking. The earliest you book, you get to seat more at the front. For 4 or more days, the seats are rotated so everyone has opportunity to seat in different parts of the bus. If you need a special seating arrangement for a medical reason, please contact us and we will try to work our best to arrange the seat for you at the front. In some cases, a medical proof will be requested.

Q: Do you have parking at departure locations?

Unfortunately, we don't offer parking for most of the departure locations, unless it is offered in the tour page. We recommend you to verify parking locations nearby the departure location in google maps.

Q: How can I get my ticket?

Once you place order successfully online, an e-ticket will be automatically emailed. Within 36 hours of submitting your reservation you will receive a confirmation email confirming the booking status. Please do not book any airline tickets until you receive the status of your booking. On your departure date, all you need to do is to bring a valid picture ID along with a printout e-ticket you receive to board the scheduled tour.

Q: How late I can make a reservation?

You can even the tours 1 day (24 hours) before your expected departure date, as long as there are availabilities. Our suggestion is if you already decide your travel date; please make the reservation as early as you can to make sure your travel plan proceed smoothly.

Q: What is the "Buy 2 Get 3rd Free" policy?

We currently offer "Buy 2 Get Free 3rd Free" discount and the Triple Occupancy* rate has been adjusted to reflect this discount. *Total cost of a Double Occupancy is same as the total cost of a Triple Occupancy.

Q: How to cancel this tour?

If you want to cancel this tour, please check the <a target="faq" href="https://www.taketours.com/ps/p1/13399.html">cancellation policy</a> first and then e-mail to support@taketours.com. Your refund request will be answered and processed promptly. If you do not receive any reply in one business day, that means your request is not processed. Please contact us immediately.

Q: What is the return time on the last day?

All the 2 to 3 days tours back to New York around 7:00pm to 8:00pm (depending on the traffic). For the long-time tour package, if the last stop is airport, please arrange your return flight according to our reminder on last day's itinerary.

Itinerary

Overview

Departing from New York in the morning, we will drive to Washington D.C. for the charming cherry blossom. First, we will visit Thomas Jefferson Memorial. The memorial is located by the Tidal Basin, from where you will have a stunning view of the Cherry Blossom blooming along the shore. Later you can take Cherry Blossom in-depth tour to view more.

Special Note: The National Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington, DC is scheduled from March 20 to April 12. However, the view of the cherry blossom vary due to weather conditions.

Washington, DC

The capital of the United States of America sits on the scenic Potomac River. Monuments, museums, and Americana characterize this historic city, which is located in the District of Columbia between the states of Maryland and Virginia.

National Cherry Blossom Festival

In 1912, Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo City gave the United States a gift of Japanese cherry trees. Every year since, people have gathered to watch them burst into a magnificent pink and white blooms.

Jefferson Memorial

The Thomas Jefferson Memorial is a memorial to the third president of the United States. The impressive building is neoclassical in design and has been standing since 1943. It sees more than two million visitors every year. It's only available during the Cherry Blossom time.

D.C. Cherry Blossom In-depth Tour

Tour will be taken place in East Potomac Park. Walk along the 4.4-mile Hains Point Loop Trail, enjoying different species of cherry trees unlike anywhere else in the park. Stroll among the blossoms while taking in spectacular views of the Potomac River, Anacostia River, and the Washington Channel.

East Potomac Park

East Potomac Park is a park located on a man-made island in the Potomac River in Washington, D.C. The park lies southeast of the Jefferson Memorial and the 14th Street Bridge, and the park lies between the Washington Channel and the Potomac River.

NOTE: Potomac River Cherry Blossom Cruise requires a minimum of 35 passengers to run. It will be replaced by President Wax Museum if cruise cancel due to passengers number or weather condition.

Tour departure date is based on the official Cherry Blossom Festival Calendar, Cherry Blossom peak bloom depends on the weather and temperature.

Redemption

Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

Booking changes
A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.
Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to Taketours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .
Cancellation penalties per person for tours (Notification day and departure day are not counted)
15-30 days or more prior to departure -10% of total purchase amount.
8-14 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
4-7 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
Within 3 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
The refund amount will be credited directly to your TakeTours wallet as credits for future use. Or the refund can also be forwarded directly to your credit card with a 6% handling fee.
NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.
Itinerary Variations
We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.
Tour Cancellation:
We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.
We are not responsible for any other travel arrangements affected due to our cancellations.

Yes , this tour does include round trip transportation. The only pickup point not available for return is Brooklyn all others have returntimes at Flushing NY @ 11:30 PM , Manhattan NY 11:00 PM & Edison, NJ @ 10:15PM

How long will we stay in DC?

The tour makes a stop in Jefferson Memorial. Passengers have 1 hour in that area to do the sightseeing. Then the tour heads to Arlington National Cemetery for the cruise ride for about 45 minutes before heading back to NYC.

Do we have to follow and stay with the tour group or are we allowed to walk off on our own and meet up at the end of the day to return back to NYC? Thanks.

You do not need to stay with the group. The tour will take all passengers to attractions and arrange time to visit. You can explore on your own and meet up after. If you can manage to go to all attractions on your own, that's fine with the tour. You can check with the tour guide for the latest meet up time and location in DC and rejoin the group from there.

I was with a group of 39 New York City Teachers. We had a great time, and our tourist guide, Ricky, is friendly. I will recommend this tour to my friends. We started on time. The driver was good, and our tour guide was friendly and doing his job well. We went to the Presidential Wax Museum and everyone had a great time. We arrived in DC earlier than expected, however we still missed the boat ride... Many people were looking forward to that. Nevertheless, the cherry blossoms were beautiful. It wasn't at its peak, but it was still enjoyable.
