Travel to Alcatraz

The word "Alcatraz" brings to mind dangerous prisoners and daring escape attempts. When it was functioning, the prison housed criminals who were too much for other jails to handle and boasted of never having allowed an inmate to escape. Today, the small island in the San Francisco Bay is a tourist spot with many attractions. It is the site of the west coast's oldest functioning lighthouse as well as a Native American cultural center. It also has wonderful natural features.
