Rector's Palace
The Rector's Palace is a palace in the city of Dubrovnik that used to serve as the seat of the Rector of the Republic of Ragusa between the 14th century and 1808. It was also the seat of the Minor Council and the state administration. Furthermore, it housed an armoury, the powder magazine, the watch house and a prison.
Franciscan Monastery
The Franciscan Monks moved to Dubrovnik in the 13th century and quickly set up a monastery. However, when threatened by war, they demolished that one and built a better protected one next to the Pile Gate and St. Saviours Church. Within this monastery's solid stone walls are a gorgeous mid-14th-century cloister, a historic pharmacy and a small museum with a collection of relics and liturgical objects, including chalices, paintings and gold jewellery, and pharmacy items such as laboratory gear and medical books.
First stop today is Pocitelj. You also see stunning Blagaj with its Dervish Monastery nestled into a 200 meter high cliff and surrounded by crystal clear streams.
