USA Tours & Vacation Packages

USA tours divide by which airport you fly into. The East Coast routes run one coach corridor — New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Niagara Falls and Boston. The West is not one trip but several: the Southwest canyons from Las Vegas and Los Angeles, the California coast and Yosemite from San Francisco, and Yellowstone from Denver or Salt Lake City. National parks run through the western routes rather than forming a region of their own. Hawaii is separate again, based on Oahu with longer packages adding other islands. Alaska runs on its own too, from Anchorage and Fairbanks. Hotels, transport and a guide are included on multi-day trips.

USA Travel Guide

Which region should you choose?

The East Coast is one coach corridor and the easiest first trip: New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, Niagara Falls and Boston link on a single route. The West is not one trip. The Southwest canyons, the California coast and Yellowstone are separated by hundreds of miles and reached from different cities, so each is its own itinerary. Hawaii and Alaska are separate again, each with its own gateway airports and no road connection to the mainland. No single coach tour covers more than one of these.

How long does each region take?

The East Coast corridor is the most compact — one loop takes in all the main cities. A western region takes about the same, but linking two of them on one run, such as Yellowstone with the canyons, takes considerably longer because of the distances between parks. Hawaii runs to its own rhythm, with Oahu as the base and extra days for other islands. Alaska routes are built around aurora viewing and several run one-way between Anchorage and Fairbanks. Each tour page shows its exact length.

What to pack

Pack for the region rather than the country. The Southwest is hot and dry in summer and cold at the canyon rim in winter. Yellowstone is cold at altitude even in July. The East Coast is humid in summer and freezing in January. Hawaii needs sun protection and something light for evenings. Alaska routes run through the colder months and need proper cold-weather layers. Walking shoes matter everywhere.

Traveling with parents or grandparents

The East Coast routes are the gentlest: short drives between cities, level sightseeing, and airport pickup on many departures. Hawaii is the next easiest — one island base, short transfers, no long coach days. Western routes involve long driving days between parks, and several Alaska routes run one-way between Anchorage and Fairbanks rather than returning to the start, so weigh both before booking. Some western tours run in small vans rather than full coaches, which means fewer stops and less waiting. Optional activities can be skipped without leaving the group behind.

Eating on tour

Meal stops are usually at cafeterias and food courts rather than set restaurants, so travelers order their own and vegetarian options are available at every stop. Stricter requirements such as Jain or halal depend on what each stop carries, so raise them before departure rather than on the day. The East Coast cities have the widest choice; in the western parks and in Alaska the options thin out. Some multi-day routes include breakfast.

GOOD TO KNOW

USA Tours - FAQ

  • How do you book a USA tour?

Choose a departure city and a date, and book online. Your confirmation gives the pickup point and time — these are set by the route rather than chosen at checkout. Prices are per person and change by season.

  • What language do the guides speak?

English on every route. Some departures also run with a Mandarin-speaking guide, and a few offer other languages — the tour page says which languages that departure covers. If it matters for your group, confirm before booking rather than on the day.

  • Which Grand Canyon rim should you visit?

The West Rim is the one you can see and return from the same day, and it is where the Skywalk glass bridge is. The South Rim is the classic view and further away — tours reaching it need a night on the road, and most pair it with Antelope Canyon. The tour name says which rim it goes to.

  • Can one trip cover both coasts?

Not on a coach. The East Coast routes and the western routes are separate trips with separate departure cities, and no single tour links them. If you want both, book two tours.

  • Is Alaska part of the mainland routes?

No. Alaska tours start in Anchorage or Fairbanks and do not connect to any route on the mainland, so a flight in is needed either way. Most are aurora trips built around Chena Hot Springs and Matanuska Glacier, and several run one-way between the two cities rather than returning to the start.

  • When is the best time to visit?

It depends which region. Yellowstone runs a summer season and the roads close through winter. The Southwest canyons work year-round but summer heat at the Grand Canyon is severe. The East Coast is busiest in summer and again in October for fall colour. Hawaii is year-round. Alaska aurora routes run in the colder months, when the nights are long enough to see it. Each tour page shows its available dates.

  • What documents do you need?

Travelers arriving from outside the United States need a valid passport and whatever entry permission applies to their nationality — requirements change, so check before booking rather than at the airport. Travelers already in the US need government-issued photo ID for hotel check-in. Routes that cross into Canada are checked in each direction, so green card and visa holders should confirm both sides.

We had the pleasure of joining the US East Coast Trip with Take Tours from September 25th to 28th, 2025, and our guide Judy made the journey truly unforgettable. Great 2-day trip! Watkins Glen and Corning Museum were unexpected highlights. Niagara Falls with Maid of the Mist and Cave of the Winds was thrilling. Long bus ride but driver was steady and guide was funny. No forced add-ons. Only downside: hotel breakfast not included. Good value overall.

Tour guides Shawn and Ricki were amazing. All the attractions were covered as planned. I have undergone multiple tours but accent was hard to follow at times but didn’t have problems this time at all. Food considerations were noted and they stopped at appropriate place. They were very knowledgeable and informative.

—Naresh · 5-Day New York, Philadelphia, Washington, Niagara Falls, Boston Tour from New York/New Jersey

The tour was short and excellent. It covered everything that could be done in LA. Guide was informative and quite witty. He made suggestions for eating options as well. He was super helpful and made sure everyone was comfortable, especially as we were travelling with our infant. Would definitely recommend this tour!

—Jusni · 5-Day New York, Philadelphia, Washington DC, and Niagara Falls Classic Tour from New York, Buffalo out

We recently took the 2-day Niagara Falls trip departing from Parsippany, NJ, and it was a wonderful experience! Choosing a bus tour over driving ourselves was definitely the right choice. It allowed us to sit back, relax, and trust our highly experienced driver. Our tour guide, Mr. Leo, was fantastic and shared fascinating historical facts at every single stop. Our driver was also excellent and very professional. Together, they made the entire journey incredibly pleasant. The local guide we had in Buffalo was equally informative. I also loved the group of people traveling with us—everyone was friendly, helpful, and full of smiles, making the environment feel safe and happy. The logistics were seamless. The bus was exceptionally clean, the rest stops were well-timed, and the hotel accommodations were very good. The International Food Mall at Niagara was a major highlight because it catered to everyone. As a vegetarian, I appreciated having familiar options like Subway and Papa Johns, while my husband thoroughly enjoyed a chicken meal at an excellent Indian restaurant inside the mall. (Bringing our own water and snacks also proved to be very helpful!).The itinerary was packed with breathtaking sights. Watkins Glen was beautiful, featuring a scenic trek that was exciting but not overly difficult. Niagara Falls is very beautiful. From the Cave of the Winds and the Power Plant visit to the Maid of the Mist, the stunning night illumination, and the Buffalo city guided tour, everything was superb. We even took the optional hot air balloon ride, which was absolutely amazing! To keep things running smoothly, it is definitely essential for everyone to follow the guide’s timeline. We have traveled with TakeTours multiple times now, and they continue to prove they are a trustworthy, high-quality agency.Suggestions for Improvement:I highly recommend adding more 1-day and 2-day itineraries (such as Atlantic City, Washington D.C., NYC, or Amish Country) with dedicated pickup and drop-off options in or near Edison, NJ. Many international visitors and local residents live in this area and would love to travel, but traveling into New York City for an early morning pickup or a late-night drop-off can be quite difficult and exhausting. Adding a central New Jersey hub like Edison would undoubtedly attract many more customers.

The best way to do a tour with a big group. These people covers everything you need to see and make sure to give you the best experience for an affordable price. Benny, the tour guide, was excellent, very kind and helpful with everybody, and made sure to cover all activities on time and run the tour very smoothly. The driver also was very responsible and respectful.

—Amelia · 2-Day Niagara Falls Tour from New York or New Jersey - Falls, Boat Ride & Night Lights

We had an amazing experience! As a group from India, we found the tour very well organized, comfortable, and budget-friendly. Our guide Jason was very helpful and made sure everything went smoothly and on time. Niagara Falls was truly beautiful, and the hotel was good for the price.

Chandler was our Tour Guide for this 3D2N Tour. He is an excellent guide, a joy to be with, considerate yet very responsible and well-respected. He knows so well what he is doing, giving us clear guidelines and instructions, which made our tour smooth and enjoyable. The driver was also friendly and on time for pickup. We went to several places as mentioned in the mandatory fee and did most of the optional tours, including the Watkins Glen Park, Congress Tour, and even the amazing Hot Air balloon, which we enjoyed so much. I highly recommend this 3D2N Tour to my family, friends, and anyone who loves US History and geography, nature lovers, and anyone who loves outdoor activities. I have been with Take Tours for almost 20 years now, bringing friends and families in groups. This is a good family and friends bonding, too.
